A Necromancer Called Gam Gam – Cover Reveal

A Necromancer Called Gam Gam is a short story-turned-novella I wrote while taking a break from my current novel WIP. Gam Gam started as a D&D character because I wanted to play an unhinged grandma of the party. I joked that Krystle and Connor pushed me into writing this story, and though some of that is true, I also found a story I could tell with her (and she became a lot less unhinged in the process, I like my D&D characters insane).

I’m proud of the story I told here, and am happy with how it turned out. And I’m even more proud of the amazing cover that came together from it (though I might be slightly biased). I couldn’t be happier to ask one of my favorite people to illustrate it for me, and she worked some absolute magic from what little I provided!

The cover illustration was done by Kerstin Espinosa Rosero, and the cover design was wrapped up by VM Designs. Virginia was able to compliment Kerstin’s art in some incredible ways!

Without further ado, the cover:

Wait, that’s the wrong one, here’s the real, and significantly better one!

Full cover layout for A Necromancer Called Gam Gam. The front features the title above, with a skeletal cat sitting on the N of Necromancer, and says "Chronicles of Gam Gam Book One" below the title. A skull in a red knitted cap over crossed knitting needles acting like Crossbones, is the centerpiece. Author name listed below that. The back ground has a few tree branches and balls of yarn stylized, with yarn lines reaching from the knitting needles around the book. Faded into the back ground are a few more skulls with knitted caps. The back features five silhouetted zombies in various knitted gear shuffling above the blurb text. The stylized background with the tree branches and yarn is reflected here as well.

(I’m still screaming about how much I love it!!!)

Blurb

A grandmotherly necromancer seeking resolution for her past, with the help of her loyal entourage: an undead cat and a spectral knight.

A girl on the run from the Eternal Empire for the mysterious power she possesses.

When a chance encounter pulls them together, Gam Gam will do what it takes to protect Mina from the rogue sergeant hounding her–including raising the dead. As long as they’re dressed for the occasion.

How did I do?

(The right one was drawn from memory and blindfolded, but I don’t think it’d be much better if I could see…)
