Your Blood and Bones Cover Reveal!

I am honored to present the cover reveal to Your Blood and Bones by J. Patricia Anderson, a brand new standalone story! It is unrelated to her current series, which makes it a perfect place to dip your toes in and see how you love Anderson’s work!

I was very excited to read this novella, as I know it’ll be part of my stiff competition in the upcoming BABYBO competition (okay, fine, it’s actually SFINCS…) and of course because the author is a friend of mine and helped improve A Necromancer Called Gam Gam!

Firstly, lets see the blurb!

Kill the monsters when they’re found.

No matter who they used to be.

The girl with secret feathers in her skin and strange bones jutting out beneath her clothes is resigned to her fate. Her deformities mark her a monster and the stories say monsters must die.

When her family finds out and turns on her, a village boy saves her and leads her on a frantic escape. The girl believes her death has merely been delayed—until he mentions a cure.

With the world against them and the monstrous change progressing, they must cross water, forest, and field to chase the rumor that fuels their desperate hope. But is hope enough to keep them going?

Okay, now cover time?

Nope! I actually got the pleasure of reading this early, and finished in time for a mini review!

Your Blood and Bones is a gruesome tale that became more interesting with each line. The main characters suffer from a terrible affliction that causes strange bone spurs and feathers to grow beneath their skin as they slowly transform into monsters. They gain some magical abilities, but if I’m being entirely honest, they didn’t sound worth it!

My joints hurt the entire time I read this book, which is a testament to Anderson’s writing skills! The ideas entertained are very interesting, and had me constantly thinking back to the events of the story even days later. It’s mentioned the story was inspired by an Of Monsters and Men song, and I can say the ending scene played out like one of their music videos in my head as I read it.

I absolutely loved my time (okay, well, there were times I didn’t love, but the book was good. It was just unpleasant haha) with this novella, and I hope you will take a chance on it as well!

Okay, now we can go to the cover!
